TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE FOR DOG DISCOVERY BARN

 

 

Please remember- K9 Fun-Time, located at Sexhow Park Farm is our family home and we want you to enjoy being here as much as we do.  The property, animals and the people living/working/ or using the facilities here must be treated with respect and kindness at all times. We will not tolerate non-adherence to the Terms and Conditions as safety and security of ourselves, animals and our clients (both canine and human) is our priority.

BARN HIRE
Door Handles, Padlocks, gate catches, water taps and bin handles are deep cleaned every morning. Bring your own hand sanitiser/wipes/gloves to use before and after touching these surfaces. We will provide hand sanitiser for the inside barn. As with anywhere, do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

INTRODUCTION SESSIONS
These will take place in person. These may be in a group WITHOUT dogs in attendance, or a private induction.

Vaccinations: Please send a photograph of your dog's vaccinations in advance.  Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations or titre tested and regularly treated for flea, tick and worm prevention.

REGULAR TERMS OF USE

K9 Fun-Time is intended to be a fun place, but it must also be safe. By using the facilities, you agree to the following Terms of Use. 

The Dog Discovery Barn T&Cs- Top 5 to remember;

1.    Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations or titre tested and regularly treated for flea, tick and worm prevention. The kennel cough vaccine is advisable but not obligatory. If titre testing, we also require the leptospirosis vaccination. Proof of vaccinations or titre tests must be brought to the Introduction Session. Evidence of yearly boosters must be emailed to hello@k9fun-time.co.uk

2.    Bookings for the indoor barn last 25/50 minutes.  Please leave promptly at the end of your session, leaving the barn clean and tidy; any user who overstays will be restricted from using the facilities in the future. Please do not arrive more than 2-3 minutes before your appointment and you and your dogs must remain in vehicles until your appointment starts. Never enter the barn while somebody else is in it. Any issues please inform us immediately via phone- do not approach the house.

3.    All dogs must be on leads except when in the barn.  We are located on a farm; there may be other animals, dogs or people in the vicinity.

4.    Please pick up after your dog and use the poo bin provided. All dogs must be toileted before entry to barn.  There is a grass area opposite the barn.  Any toileting/scent marking that occurs inside the barn must be cleaned up immediately.  Cleaning equipment is available. If this is not cleaned up properly, this may lead to refusal of future use.

Dogs must be clean and dry on entering the barn, please bring a towel to ensure this is completed, pay special attention to paws.

Failure to pick up dog waste, rubbish or toys will lead to the refusal of future use. If you find anything left by a previous user, please pick it up and let us know. Leave 5 minutes at the end of your session to check the barn is clear. Spot checks take place.

 5.    Bring your own water and water bowls. They must be left in a safe place to avoid water on the barn floor.  Please ensure you look after the facility, equipment, and the flooring. 

6. Maximum of four cars to be parked in the parking area- any additional requirements please get in touch prior to your arrival. Always keep noise to a minimum, inside and outside the barn

 

THE IMPORTANT STUFF

Use of the barn is entirely at your own risk. K9 Fun-Time accepts no liability for the death of or any injury of any person or dog, or for damage to any property. K9 Fun-Time also accepts no liability for any losses, claims, actions, damages, costs, expenses, or other liability incurred whilst onsite. Yours and your dogs' behaviour and actions are your sole responsibility, and no claim can be made against K9 Fun-Time.

You are liable for any damage caused inside and outside of the barn by you, your dog(s) or any person in your party. All dogs must be covered under their own third-party insurance (public liability insurance). This is usually included in your pet insurance.

We are located in a rural setting amongst working farmland. Therefore, K9 Fun-Time may not be suitable for all dogs due to the proximity of livestock (including horses etc), sounds of neighbouring farm dogs, gunshots and bird scarer's (at certain times of the year). Please assess the suitability for your own dog or contact us for more information.

You must be over 18 to make a booking.

 CCTV cameras are on site for your security.

 Barn users do so at their own risk. No responsibility can be taken for any incidents within the barn or on the premises at Sexhow Park Farm.

 Vehicles and contents are left at their owner’s risk.

ARRIVING & LEAVING  

Please be aware we are located in a rural setting, along country roads, which are untreated during the winter months so may become Icey/snowy etc. Please ensure you check the weather forecast to ensure you are comfortable with the conditions before booking.

You and your dogs must remain in your vehicle until it is your turn to use the barn. Allowing dogs out of cars in the car park when the previous user is in the barn could have consequences for nervous and/or reactive dogs. Dogs must be kept on leads until in the barn.  Please keep noise volumes down at all times

Parking areas are clearly sign posted and will be shown at your induction.  For extremely nervous dogs it is possible to park right next to the entrance of the barn.

Dogs must be clean and dry on entering the barn, please bring a towel to ensure this is completed, pay special attention to paws.

Never enter the barn while somebody else is in it. There is a lock to lock yourself in to prevent anyone from entering when you are inside.

If the previous appointment is still in the barn when your booking starts, please inform us immediately.

Once the barn is vacated, ensure you wait for your timeslot before entering. All access instructions will be shown via an email following your booking confirmation and clarified for you at your induction. 

Security and safety are very important to us- this is our home, and all rules must be abided to. 

ETIQUETTE 

K9 Fun-Time is a safe and peaceful retreat for everybody. Please give people and dogs plenty of space. Any disrespectful behaviour will lead to refusal of future use.

Please do not enter any other areas than those you have booked; walking around the farm is not permitted.

Please respect our neighbours’ privacy. K9 Fun-Time is not affiliated with neighbouring farms and residential properties. Please do not enter their land or make excessive noise at any time.

Although K9 Fun-Time is intended to be a safe space for all dogs with behavioural issues, it is a condition of our Environmental Health department that dogs who exhibit excessive, persistent patterns of barking behaviour will be restricted from using the facility.

 

DOS AND DON'TS

Do not drop litter or leave toys or uneaten treats in the barn. Dogs may swallow them and become ill so please take everything home with you at the end of your session.

No smoking anywhere on site.

No grooming anywhere on site.

No high ball throwing (there are lights in the barn)

Do not open fire exit doors/windows.

Do not allow the dogs to chew, scratch or damage the equipment/furnishings-please supervise dogs at all times.

There must always be a ratio of no more than 3 dogs to 1 adult.

If you wish to share your slot with friends, it is your responsibility to ensure that they read and agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please ensure that all dogs get along before bringing them to the facility, and that you have sent through a copy of their up-to-date vaccination certificate.

Please wear appropriate clothing/footwear - the barn can get very cold in the winter months.

 

EQUIPMENT

K9 Fun-Time is not liable for any death, damage, injury or loss to any person or animal while using the facility or the equipment within it, or to any third party as a result of any person or dog.

Dogs under 18 months old are restricted from using the Adventure Play equipment due to their developing growth plates.

Before using the facility or the equipment within it, visit the vet to ensure that dogs are physically fit and strong enough to perform activities.

Do not use equipment if it has become wet as surfaces may become slippery.

Dogs must never be picked up and placed on obstacles. When using equipment above ground level dogs must wear a harness so that they can be supported during the exercise.

Never push dogs to do anything that they are not physically or mentally capable of. Allow dogs to go at their own pace and always let them choose whether they want to do it or not. Ensure dogs warm up properly first.

The equipment is for canine use only, not for human adults or children to climb on.

Do not use any damaged equipment. Please report damages immediately.

FIELD or BARN HIRE for XL Bully’s and dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act

We want our facilities to be inclusive for all users, and welcome XL Bully’s and all exempt dog owners. There are some conditions of use imposed by the law/insurers etc. as per below;

All users must comply with the below in accordance with our insurers policy in relation to XL Bully’s and other dogs under the DDA. As owners/carers of said dogs, it is your responsibility to comply with all legal requirements and keep up to date with any changes made to the law, or your insurance.

  1. The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us

  2. A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us

  3. The dog handler ratio is 1:1 with their handler at all times unless with other dogs from the same household

  4. The dog is Neutered – in line with Government Rules

  5. The dog is Micro Chipped

  6. The barn is securely locked when in use

  7. The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until the door is shut and locked when entering the barn 

  8. The dog is put back on a lead and muzzled before opening the door to leave the barn

  9. You can remove the lead and muzzle once inside the barn

  10. If the household has more than 1 dog, they can come to the field together as long as they have a minimum of 1 handler. All dogs leads and muzzles can be removed once in the field including the XL Bully. 

  11. . If there are dogs from different households, the banned breed will need to remain muzzled and on a lead at all times with a 1:1 handler

 

 

HEALTH & WELFARE

Do not bring your dog to the barn if they are or have been unwell in the last 48 hours. Doing so could be harmful to other dogs.

All sessions must comply with K9 Fun-Time’s reward-based training values. We reserve the right to cancel or end any session that may not comply.

Never leave dogs unattended in the barn and no dogs to be left in vehicles while you walk other dogs in the barn.  

PROFESSIONALS

If you wish to use the barn with a professional or if you are a professional and would like to use the barn with your clients, please contact us.

CANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS

Cancellations and amendments must be made 24 hours in advance of the scheduled booking to incur no charges.

No extension is allowed for late arrival to the barn.

No refunds or rescheduling available for no-shows.

If the appointment that you have made becomes unsuitable you can reschedule your own bookings up to 24 hours before your start time using the link from your email confirmation. Cancellations incur a £1 admin charge per session.

We reserve the right to close the barn at any time, for which notice and a full refund will be given.

PRIVACY

K9 Fun-Time is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. We hold your personal information in order to provide you with a service and for internal record keeping. Your name is needed to track payments and your email address is needed to send you the access code. If you opt in to receive news updates from us you have the option to opt out at any time. We will never pass your information to any third party. PRICES

The standard booking fee covers 1-3 dogs; additional dogs are charged at £2 per dog up to a maximum of 8 small dogs/6 medium-large.  There must always be a ratio of no more than 3 dogs to 1 adult. Please get in touch directly for any special requests

All K9 Fun-Time services are subject to an annual price increase.
