Who are we

Our aim is to offer some of the best secure dog walking and exercise facilities in the UK. To allow dogs to run free, off-lead and to enjoy, not just exercise, but also an experience. Our passion for animals and all things canine drive us to want the best for our guests, both canine and human, all year around, offering both indoor and outdoor discovery spaces.

Our Mission

Here at K9 Fun-Time our mission is to provide a secure and fun dog exercising experience, where both yourself and your canine friend can relax and enjoy each other’s company, without the restriction of a lead or the worry of others invading your space.  This is a fun and safe social distancing exercise arena, in a lovely rural setting, and is perfect for all dogs, even those who may be reactive or have behavioural problems.

Whether your canine companion just wants to run-free, or discover the different activities there are to do here, such as digging areas, activity centres, tunnels, sensory gardens etc. and of course the fantastic Scentventure®, we hope you will find everything you need to enhance both your lives and wellbeing.

A little about us…

  • We are a small rural family business, made up of Lucy, James and Jemima Shepherd, and have had dogs all our lives. A number of these have been rescue or re-homed dogs, so we know first hand how much love and happiness they can bring. We also understand how tough it can be when they have behavioural issues, socialisation issues or may be reactive. We wanted to create a space that helps both dogs and their owners gain a better quality of life, in a safe and secure environment.

  • Lucy (BCCSDip.DogBhv, BHS UKAC, BScHons) has her Canine Behaviour Diploma qualification, Scentventure Guide Assessment, Canine First Aid qualification, fully DBS checked, is an Accredited Coach with the BHS (she has coached and worked with owners and their animals for over 20 years), and is continuously learning and developing her knowledge and skills. James is an engineer and local farmer, and has worked with animals and arable land all his life. His skills have been paramount in building these facilities, and keeping the fields neat and tidy. We work together as a team , and are keen to continue to learn, improve and to build a sustainable local business.

  • We farm in beautiful North Yorkshire, and are lucky enough to have some fantastic spaces to exercise and experience. We want to share this with responsible dog owners, who love their pets, so that they may also enjoy these amazing spaces.

We are a family run, local business, and our dogs Twix and Pepper are our inspiration. The smiles on their faces the first time we let them free in our secure field was heart melting

We want every dog to enjoy that freedom

Working with like-minded people and supporting local business’s is part of our ethos.
